Senter, CPA – Firm Update

by | May 26, 2020 | Community, Team

As restrictions lift and businesses prepare to reopen doors, our team has taken time to reflect, discuss and coordinate plans for safely reopening our doors. In an effort to remain transparent and communicate developments within our firm, we found it necessary to share our approach to reopening with our valued clients and community.

Our firm plans to reopen in a phased approach to ensure that we maintain a safe work environment for our clients and staff. Controlling any potential spread of COVID-19 in our office is our top priority. Consistent with our intentions, we will continue to follow local, state and federal guidelines for health and safety requirements. This will include rigorous daily disinfecting, wearing protective facial masks, employee on-site temperature checks and observation of social distancing guidelines.

PHASE ONE: Starting the week of Monday, June 15th, our team will be reporting back to the office. Senter, CPA doors will remain locked, as this time is intended specifically for our staff to restart our internal operations. During that time, we will continue to implement the drop box system we currently have in place, as well as continuing the use of our Zoom video conferences and traditional conference calls.

PHASE TWO: Starting the following week of Monday, June 22nd, our doors will remain locked to the public, however we will accept clients, by request only, for in-office appointments lasting no longer than 30 minutes in time. Please call our office to request a face to face meeting, if absolutely necessary, as these meetings will only be allowed in a case-by-case basis. Note that our staff will be scheduling meetings in office sparingly to allow proper time to clean and sanitize in-between visits. In an effort to socially distance, we will also avoid wait time in the lobby and, as a result, clients will be seated in our conference room immediately to limit walk-traffic flow and congestion. Our office floors will be mapped to adhere to 6-foot social distancing guidelines. In addition, we require the use of face masks and/or gloves and will supply these to our clients in order to do so. Zoom video conference calls and traditional conference calls will remain the primary means of communication, outside of email and the client portal.

PHASE THREE: We will announce the exact date in future correspondence, as we intend to remain in phase 2 for a prolonged period of time. When we do decide to enact phase 3, you can expect a full reopening, with some simple precautionary restrictions. Physical distancing measures will remain in place, however doors will open and our firm will allow longer appointment based meet times.

As you can tell the “Stay Safe, Stay Home” order wasn’t exactly good for my looks, but it wasn’t all that bad for Senter, CPA. During this time and as a team, we helped our clients and community with the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans, Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), Employee Retention Credits (ERC) and general stimulus related questions. We also proved, that with our current technology, we can take our workstations from the office to home and continue working in a secure and safe environment (data and physical). We continue to be prepared if and when future closures are ever necessary.

Let’s take a look back at some of the things going on in our world during this time:

We will communicate any changes as they may arise. Please feel free to contact us at (248) 934-0550 if you have any questions related to our reopening or if  would like to learn more about the services we offer.  We are here and we are honored to help.
